Is your child losing confidence and falling behind at school?
Unfortunately, as school funding and resources are under increasing pressure some children are getting left behind. I believe that every child has the potential to learn and enjoy learning. As a qualified primary teacher, it has always been my responsibility to facilitate learning for all. Some children need specifically tailored individual programmes and, in the latter years of my teaching I was very fortunate to be trained both as a Reading Recovery Teacher and as a Numbers Count Teacher.

ABOUT ME
As a qualified and experienced primary school teacher it would be my pleasure to facilitate learning for your child. It is essential that I have excellent subject knowledge and understand how young children learn.

READING@RACHEL'S
I am a trained Reading Recovery Teacher. I will build on your child’s reading strengths and support them to develop new strategies
NUMBERS@RACHEL'S
For four years I was employed as a Numbers Count Teacher, working 1-1 with the children furthest behind in mathematics.
SUPPORT@RACHEL'S
I offer 1-1 coaching or group work-shops for parent/carers helping you to be more effective and have more fun supporting your children.

First meeting + assessment
Description:
- An opportunity for you to share with me any thoughts and concerns you have about your child’s learning. I will carry out an assessment. This enables me to start to build a picture of your child’s strengths, identify suitable next steps for their learning and provides a standardised number or reading age for your child.

Lesson Programme
Description:
- I will deliver 10 hours of tutoring, 20 lessons of 30 mins each (preferably at least twice a week). Lessons will be planned specifically for your child as I continually assess their progress and make professional judgements about the next steps in their learning. The lessons will be tailored to reflect your child’s interests.

Final Assessment + Report
Description:
- At the end of the programme I will re-assess your child and complete a report. The report will highlight your child’s areas of progress. Identifying your child’s new number/reading age will give an indication of the progress your child has made through the programme. We will meet to discuss next steps for their learning.
